Beach Rats
Punk supergroup Beach Rats released their debut EP Wasted Time on July 27 via Bridge 9. The band features Lifetime vocalist Ari Katz, guitarist Brian Baker (Minor Threat, Dag Nasty, Bad Religion, and Bouncing Souls members Brian Kienlen and Pete Steinkopf, along with drummer Danny “Dubs” Windas, and with Ari singing, it’s probably most similar to Lifetime’s raw melodic hardcore, but fans of any of Beach Rats’ members’ other bands should instantly dig this. It’s short, fast, and loud with no frills at all, and it rips for its entire minute and a half running time. It’s a time-tested formula, and one that the members of Beach Rats have helped define again and again throughout their careers. Beach Rats don’t mess with that formula at all, and they shouldn’t have to. Especially with punk musicians this legendary, sometimes this is all you need.

The Boardwalk Kings
The Boardwalk Kings
The Boardwalk Kings are a four-piece Rock outfit of Phily’s most-traveled musicians. Having come together only a year ago, their high-energy stage show and seamless amalgam of rock, punk, reggae, alt-pop, and funk makes their genuine connection with fans infectious. The Boardwalk Kings have earned a reputation for writing songs that showcase standout-storytelling with a folk heart and a punk rock soul. Travis Coffin’s passionate vocals intertwine delicately with his intricate rhythm guitar style while Vinny Marone’s sensational leads soar over the tight, grooving rhythm section consisting of Pagan (drums) and Pete Samulis (bass). TBK conquered the radio airwaves with their first single Jack B. Quick in December of 2017, earning a coveted spot on Redding, California’s Hella Radio Top 30 New Songs of 2017 less than a month after the song’s debut. Since then, the guys have been mainstays on Philly college and public radio, regularly taking over programs and segments like The Oxford Comma Show on Temple Radio (WHIP) to perform, chat, and make new friends. Live - TBK is force to be reckoned with. The band won’t rest unless the crowd is dancing and toasting to good health and good music. Whether powering through a 30-minute showcase of original songs at a local West Philly dive, or playing four hours of pop favorites at a hot spot on the Jersey Shore, The Boardwalk Kings make sure every listener goes home happy while wanting to come back for more again and again. With the release of their debut EP Before the Riots (August 2018), TBK will be hitting the road before going into the studio in Summer 2019 to record their first full-length LP - bringing their energetic sets and contagious camaraderie to a stage near you! The Boardwalk Kings are Travis Coffin (Vocals and Guitars), Vinny Marone (Guitars), Pagan (Drums), and Pete Samuelis (Bass).
