Uncle Jesse is more than your typical "cover band." We provide a full-on 90's experience. This means that we aim for album-accuracy, while providing our personal touches to each song we play. And our shows transcend the music itself- we offer a night of 90s nostalgia, including trivia, personal 90s reveries from the band, donning 90s attire, and incorporating audience participation. That being said, we bring audience participation to a whole new level by allowing various audience members on stage for live karaoke! Composed of young, professional musicians, Uncle Jesse experienced the 1990's as fully as anyone, and we aim to reawaken a truly amazing decade with each and every one of our fans.
Uncle Jesse is comprised of many crossing relationships, from those who went to high school together (Evan and Justin), to those who went to college together (Justin and Dianna), to those who sing in barbershop groups together (Evan, Josh, and Dave), to those who work together (Evan and Grace).
Since their time at Syracuse University playing in pit orchestras together, Justin and Dianna frequently jammed on and waxed nostalgic about music from the 90's. They said that if they ever wound up living near NYC in the future that they would get a band together. Three years later, they were both living in the NYC area. Through various connections, more members were grouped together to form New York City's premier 90's cover band, Uncle Jesse.
Uncle Jesse wants you to rock out to the hits of the 90's from bands such as Blues Traveler, Spin Doctors, Alanis Morissette, Foo Fighters, Green Day, and Lisa Loeb.
