I am Mark Sultan. I am known as 'BBQ'. I play in The King Khan & BBQ Show with King Khan, The Almighty Defenders with King Khan and Black Lips, The Ding-Dongs with Bloodshot Bill, and was in Les Sexareenos and The Spaceshits. I have put records out on Goner, In The Red, SubPop, Norton, Vice, Fat Possum, Bomp!, Sympathy For The Record Industry, Crypt and many others. I have toured  all over the world.

Mark Sultan has been a long-time fixture in the 'garage rock' scene, having played in such bands as The King Khan & BBQ Show, The Almighty Defenders (Sultan, Khan, Black Lips), BBQ, The Ding-Dongs (with Bloodshot Bill), The Spaceshits, Les Sexareenos, Mind Controls, etc... and has released a bunch of records on labels like In The Red, Last Gang, Crypt, Fat Possum, Dirtnap, Goner, Sub Pop, Vice, Bomp!, Norton, Sympathy For The Record Industry, etc... He has toured North and South America, Europe, Asia, Australia , Israel and everywhere in between. People like Jon Spencer and Bradford Cox have covered his songs. His voice is often cited as being one of the finest rock'n'roll voices of today, and has been called 'patient zero' as a main influence in the modern garage/doo-wop sound. 

A cult figure, an underrated gem, and sorcerer, Mark continues to hammer out top-shelf releases and songs while touring incessantly, his live act said to sound and feel like 'a haunted stereo playing pirate radio, complete with all of the static and anticipation'. Some have also said: 'The best one-man band going, absolutely devoid of insincerity or gimmick', and: 'pure magic'."
